Why book us in Brussels

A crew that knows the EU quarter.

Brussels work has its own rules: accreditation deadlines, security perimeters and stand-up spots everyone else wants too. We plan for them before the crew leaves The Hague, so the shoot day goes on filming rather than on paperwork.

Schuman · Rue de la Loi · Berlaymont

We have worked the perimeter at 4AM.

On a summit morning the area around Schuman closes to broadcast vehicles hours before leaders arrive. Our crew was in place outside the Berlaymont at 4AM and live to Munich at 5AM. That is the kind of day we plan for.

Same day from The Hague

Brussels is about two hours by road. Call in the morning and the crew can be filming in the afternoon, availability permitting.

Recorded or live

Interviews and B-roll recorded to card, or a live cross through a LiveU LU600 when the desk needs it. Same crew either way.

Dutch, English, French, German

Our crews work in Dutch and English. A French- or German-speaking crew member is available on request.

Partner crews in Brussels

A second position or a multi-camera event? Vetted partner crews in Brussels join on the same booking and the same invoice.

Where we film

Two permissions, not one.

Most of our Brussels work sits in a few streets. The European Commission is in the Berlaymont at Schuman. European Council summits run in the Council buildings on Rue de la Loi, a short walk away. The European Parliament is a few minutes south-west, around Place du Luxembourg. NATO headquarters is out on Boulevard Léopold III, near the airport.

Filming at any of them takes two separate permissions. Press accreditation comes from the institution or the event, usually with a deadline well before the day, and gets the crew and kit into the press areas. On summit days the Brussels police also run a security perimeter around Schuman and Rue de la Loi, with its own pass and identification checks, and parking bans that reach well beyond it. We coordinate the accreditation and plan the route in around the perimeter. Our producer guide to the European Council covers both in detail.

Away from the institutions, filming in public space in Brussels goes through the region's film office, the Film Commission at visit.brussels. Tell us the location and we will tell you what the shoot needs.

Pricing

What a camera crew costs in Brussels.

An operator with full broadcast kit starts at €500 a day. A LiveU LU600 for live work adds €350 a day. The drive from The Hague is its own line on the quote, so nothing appears on the invoice that was not on the quote.

From €500 a day

Operator with full kit

Broadcast camera and lenses, professional audio, basic lighting, tripod and standard footage delivery. Add a sound recordist for a two-person crew.

€350 a day

Live cross with LiveU

The LiveU LU600 bonds 4G and 5G into one live signal. Encoding, international data and monitoring are in the day rate.

Half or full day

What moves the price

A full day is 8 to 10 hours, a half day 4 to 5, with overtime pro rata. European Council summits run over two days, so we usually suggest booking both.

Who books a crew in Brussels

News desks first.

Most of our Brussels bookings come from news desks without a crew of their own in the city: a foreign broadcaster covering a summit, an agency that needs extra hands on a busy day, a correspondent who needs a doorstep filmed before the noon briefing. We also film interviews, panels and statements for press offices and organisations around the EU quarter.

For live transmission across Belgium with an operator, see LiveU with a crew in Belgium. For everything else we film in the country, see video production in Belgium, and for crews in other countries, camera crew hire across Europe. German-speaking desk? This page is also in German: Kamerateam in Brüssel. The full story of the summit morning is in the ProSieben case study.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How much does it cost to hire a camera crew in Brussels?

An operator with full broadcast kit starts at €500 a day, and a LiveU LU600 for live transmission adds €350 a day. The drive from The Hague is a separate line on the quote, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.

Can your crew film inside the EU institutions?

Yes, with accreditation. It comes from the institution or the event, usually with a deadline well before the day, and we coordinate it for the crew. On summit days the Brussels police also run a security perimeter around Schuman that needs a separate pass, so start both early.

How many live positions can you run on a summit day?

Two at short notice. Up to four when booked ahead, because the extra LiveU units need lead time. If you know the date, book early.

Do your crews speak French?

Our crews work in Dutch and English. A French- or German-speaking crew member is available on request, so mention the interview language when you book.

How fast can a crew reach Brussels?

The same day. Brussels is about two hours by road from our base in The Hague, and a producer answers +31 6 40830071 around the clock to confirm availability.

Do I need a permit to film on the street in Brussels?

Often, yes. The Brussels-Capital Region has its own film office, the Film Commission at visit.brussels, which handles filming in public space. Send us the location and we will tell you what the shoot needs.

Can you run a multi-camera shoot in Brussels?

Yes. For a second camera or a bigger event we add vetted partner crews in Brussels, with the same kit standard, on the same booking and the same invoice.

Ready when you are

Need a camera crew in Brussels?
